Webb24 maj 2016 · So basically, as of now, co-authoring abilities seem to be identical in both SharePoint 2016 on-prem and SharePoint Online, which is that co-authoring in the Excel Web App works great, but co-authoring in the Excel Windows client does not work at all. Hopefully this clears up the situation for other people that come across this thread.
